CANADA:

ONLY OUR CF DOCTORS SHOULD BE ABLE TO DECIDE WHAT MEDICINE WE NEED.

The Health Technology Assessment (CADTH) evaluates Health Canada approved medicine and provides recommendations on reimbursement. On July 8th, CADTH released their draft recommendations for CF patients that need to access Trikafta. They have placed restrictive criteria, therefore limiting access to the biggest breakthrough in CF History: Trikafta.
It’s YOUR TURN to voice your opinion on CADTH’s recommendations.

EVERYONE THAT CAN BENEFIT FROM THIS MEDICATION SHOULD BE ABLE TO!

Provincial officials, be our champions

We need to let our elected officials know what an important stage we are at. While we wait for Health Canada’s review and Health Technology Assessment, it is critical that our provincial governments understand the urgency of adding Trikafta and other modulators to the provincial formulary as soon as possible!

Share this simplified one-pager to your MLA/MPP today.

CF patients, we need CADTH & INESSS to hear YOUR voice. YOUR Story. These are the agencies that will determine the VALUE of Trikafta in your life.

Thanks to your tireless efforts in getting loud for Canadians with CF, we are currently in an aligned review process for Trikafta. This means that the manufacturer will look to seek a Notice of Compliance (Health Canada approval) and coverage recommendations at the same time through the Health Technology Assessment process.  (Please see The Drug Approval Process to familiarize yourself with where we are in the fight.)

They will be reviewing the safety and efficacy of Trikafta at the same time as giving it a rating that will help the provinces determine how/if they will fund the medicine. This process can take a MAXIMUM of 180 days. By our calculations, we should be expected a review by the end of June, 2021.  At this time, our Provinces will decide to what degree they will fund this life-saving medicine.
